Yeah, sure am. Is that a problem?

[TJ enjoyed flirting. It made him feel good and usually, the other person too. He knew it wasn't for everybody and he'd curb his enthusiasm if he had to, but fingers crossed, whatever, that Kylo wasn't one of those kind of people.]

So, you wanna go in?

[He straightens up and steps forward, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet.]

No. It's just surprising.

[ Ren may have spent the past however-many-years shuffled from one celibate, ascetic order to another, but that doesn't mean he's blind; he knows TJ's attractive. But compliments, flirting, that's all... not in his wheelhouse. And he's not even sure what he wants to accomplish here, besides meeting up with a person who isn't associated with the damned Resistance in any way.

He casts a glance at the bar, then nods. ]

Let's go in.

[ Where they can both not drink!

The bar itself has a decent-sized crowd, but it's a quieter establishment, classy, even, in that it seems to be set up for people to have conversations in intimate lighting, against the backdrop of somebody playing the piano. When was the last time he'd been inside a tavern? It had to have been before his parents sent him away. An adolescent attempt at sneaking in with some friends, which ended with him so sick with a hangover that his mother wound up going easy on him. (Han, he remembers, thought it was funny, and gave him some fatherly advice for how to avoid the hangovers next time.)

Ren stands there for a moment, looking around the bar. NOW WHAT? ]

I don't... do this often.

[ As if he really needs to tell TJ that. It's probably obvious with the way he's carrying himself. ]

[TJs head tips down and to the side. He squints, hard. Now, attractiveness was subjective and beauty was in the eye of the beholder, whatever - but where had Kylo come from that people weren't going at him 24/7. That hair and those lips alone were more than enough to have TJ angling for a kiss, fingers tangled and tugging just so..

This wasn't a Grindr hookup. It could be a date but mostly, it was two guys meeting up for drinks. That wasn't so complicated.]

Do what often? [He wasn't stupid. It was pretty obvious Kylo was out of his element, but TJ could pick up the slack for them both.] Let guys flirt with you or hang out? Or both.

[He raises a brow but doesn't expect an answer. The ambiance is good. He could work with this. He leans over and bumps Kylo's arm, nods towards the bar.]

I'll go get us something and you find us a seat.

[This was the kind of place he'd frequent when he was hoping to get have a good photo op or if he were out with someone special. Not his normal go to back home, but this was different. He could be whoever the hell he wanted here. Fresh start. So with that in mind, he takes a few steps backwards towards the bar and then swivels around.]

[ It helps that he's usually wearing a mask. That's easy, interacting with people when they can't see his face. There's a certain comfort in relative anonymity.

For starters: people can't see when his cheeks actually go warm from the question. He lets out a short hiss between his teeth, feeling a tiny bit foolish. ]

Both. [ Because he's seriously not a sociable person. Pause. ] I'll go find a seat.

[ Like TJ, Ren realizes that this is something of an opportunity to be somebody different. Perhaps he ought to try, he figures, as he finds a quiet and somewhat out-of-the-way table for them. ]
